MAMRH - Mount Airy Museum of Regional History

On Sunday February 16 from 2-4pm. the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History will sponsor a presentation on the "Enslaved Persons Index recently published by the Surry County Historical Society.  Local historian, Marion Venable, will detail the process through which the index was compiled by Jennifer H. Crouse, former Deputy Register of Deeds for Surry County and later expanded and edited by the Society. This publication is the result of a decade's work to bring this most valuable information to the public.  The book offers new and enhanced opportunities for in-depth family research and will be available for sale.
