The Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C. contains more than 300,000 cubic feet of Mount Airy granite and is considered one of the finest granite structures in America. The 2,200 foot bridge that spans the Potomic River was constructed in 1925 and all of the bridge above the waterline was made of Mount Airy granite.
