Celebrate Independence Day in the courtyard at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History!
Join us here for a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence, July 4th at 11am. Brack & Angela Llewellyn of the NoneSuch Playmakers will reprise their performance in the Museum's Courtyard from last year, reading the foundation document for these United States of America.
It will be Livestreamed on our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/mountairymuseum/. Admission to the Courtyard is limited to 25 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Copies of the Declaration will be distributed so everyone can follow along as these important, dangerous words that began our nation are read out. click here for a copy of the Declaration: https://www.archives.gov/founding.../declaration-transcript
The event is free. Masks and Social Distancing are required.
Following Covid-19 occupancy restrictions, the Museum Gift Shop will be open after the reading of the Declaration of Independence and will remain open until 2pm. Due to construction, there are no public restrooms available. Again, Masks and Social Distancing are required.
