The War Memorial Exhibit , with its magnificent back drop of the American Flag flown on the USS WASP in July of 1945, contains artifacts from the Museum Collection depicting the sacrifices that have been made to defend our freedom. Included in this exhibit are a Civil War prosthesis and gun powder gourd, buttons and a pin from the Spanish American War, a World War I blanket and soldier's uniform along with correspondence, a window with cloth and paper service flags, a Gold Star Mother's cape and cap, a Purple Heart, an Episcopal Service Cross plus a piece of the Berlin Wall. New artifacts, either gifted or loaned, are being added almost weekly.
