Model Railroad

A 70-ft scale-model railroad, depicting the line from Sanford, North Carolina to Kibler Valley in Virginia is complete. A narrow panel in front of the exhibit contains the historic interpretation of each of the towns and depots through which the train passed on its way to Mount Airy. You can also view an authentic replica of a dispatcher's office including the ticket window from the Ararat Depot.
